The Turks and Caicos’ Providenciales has been named the world’s best beach destination for 2012, according to this year’s Travelers’ Choice awards from Trip Advisor.
It is the second straight year Providenciales has received the honour, which is based on traveller responses.
What makes our little Caribbean island the Travelers’ Choice top beach destination for the second year in a row? Families love it for uncrowded beaches such as Taylor Bay and Grace Bay. Divers and snorkellers flock there to explore the bountiful barrier reef, including Smith’s Reef and its ocean floor walk. And newly-weds find it a perfectly romantic place for a honeymoon.
Turks and Caicos Director of Tourism Ralph Higgs said he “concurs fully with Trip Advisors’ remarks,” adding that “the world is now discovering what we have known all along.”
