A big shout out to Executive Chef Eric Cousin, Chef Damion and all all the staff at the Blue Haven TCI Marina and Resort. Salt Bar & Grill, and Fire & Ice, their two newest additions to the Provo dining scene located at the Leeward Marina, have been receiving great reviews this month from my clients!
I am told that the food at both establishments is tasty, that the Cuban Night buffet is yummy (pig roast and jerk chicken or beef) , and while the service at both might be slow on non buffet days, that’s made up for by the warmth and welcome of the service staff.
The fire pit with 3-4 ft glass screens at Fire & Ice that provide shelter from Trade winds, offer fabulous unobstructed views of TCI’s turquoise waters and the berthed mega yachts gently swaying in the wind.
One of my clients, Mr. Rife, staying at Allegria for 3 weeks this month, had this to say, and I paraphrase: ‘While the terrific food filled my belly, the amazing service staff filled my heart’. Another advised that ‘the desserts were pretty darned good, especially the walnut cake’!
I’ll be dining at both shortly to enjoy my ‘slice of heaven’ at Blue Haven and hope to see you there too!!
On any given sunny and breezy day, enjoy the view of the yachts on the Blue Haven Marina while soaking up the flavors of the Caribbean at the casual Salt Bar & Grill. Make an afternoon of it, play some beach volleyball or horseshoes, or just soak up the sun.
The casual bar atmosphere has long become the talk of town, reminding residents of days gone by when many travelers used to arrive by boat in the Caribbean. Today, the only thing that has changed is that the boats are predominantly motor driven. What has not changed is that their occupants tell stories from all over the Caribbean from their recent endeavors.
The menu offers paninis, burgers, wings and more. Comfort food at its best! The view, of course, far surpasses that of any simple bar. Who does not want to peer across the turquoise waters and mega yachts with a gentle breeze blowing through their hair?
Salt Bar & Grill at Blue Haven Resort and Marina is open daily from 10 am until 10 pm and serves lunch and dinner. And, of course, the odd drink in between. In fact,Salt is the ideal place to sit tight for a little more friendship shared after an excursion, water sport activity, or boat trip.
A new breed of experiential dining dubbed ‘eatertainment’ is served up at Fire & Ice. Casual and sophisticated sums it up for this newest of member to the Turks and Caicos dining scene located at the Blue Haven Resort and Marina in Leeward.
Start your dinner with some easy sipping drinks at the Ice Bar and end with dessert by the fire pits in the Fire Lounge.
In between, the dinner menu comprises a series of fresh Caribbean flavors and spices as a tribute to the culinary diversity of the region. Signature specials at Fire & Ice are their weekly Gourmet Sunday Brunch (10am – 2:30pm) and the weekly Cuban Night every Wednesday with a fresh North Caicos pig roast made with local ingredients.
The Fire Lounge offers a Caribbean atmosphere at its best. Overlooking the turquoise waters and Mangrove Cay directly adjacent to the resort, the fire pits offer a gentle glow; the perfect spot to chill under the stars while enjoying a refreshing cocktail from the Ice Bar.
